Moose on a Roof

It seems there are moose EVERYWHERE! With such a hard winter and Anchorage reaching the second snowiest season on record  (soon to be the first no doubt), the moose have left the hillsides 400+ inches of snow and headed into town.

Moose in the hospitals, play grounds, parking lots...The Anchorage Daily News has an ever growing collection of urban moose sightings on their website because they have become so common.

After being gone for a while, mommy moose  got concerned and came looking for baby.
Well yesterday a new "first" for the sightings happened when a moose was spotted atop a house. A calf wandered up a rooftop after the owner had shoveled the roof, leaving a nice entrance ramp. The moose was less willing to get off the roof than she was to get on. The moose wandered up to reach the tasty tree branches.

Always something exciting in Alaska
